  Personal Mission Statement   Helps job-seekers identify their core values and beliefs. Writing a personal mission statement offers the opportunity to establish what's important and perhaps make a decision to stick to it before we even start a career. Or it enables us to chart a new course when we're at a career crossroads  
 
  Phenotype   The observable characteristics of an organism as opposed to the set of genes it possesses (its genotype).The phenotype that an organism manifests is a result of both genetic and environmental factors. Therefore, organisms with the same genotype may display different phenotypes due to environmental factors. Conversely, organisms with the same phenotypes may have different genotypes.  
 
  Planner   digital planning broadly covers 3 disciplines: 1. Consumer planning; 2. Information architecture or information design; 3. Usability. Good planners have all these skills in some form or capacity, but it is not uncommon to resource a dedicated skill set depending on the project. Bigger agencies have a body of planners to cover off these areas full time. There is more information on planners in the Process section of this document.  
 
  Planner (Media)   responsible for identifying media insights and developing a media strategy that is presented to advertisers. More often planners are digital specialists but increasingly agencies are repositioning to offer up integrate planning skills.  
 
  Portfolio Career   A situation where instead of working a traditional full-time job, job-seekers work multiple part-time jobs (including part-time employment, temporary jobs, freelancing, and self-employment) with different employers that when combined are the equivalent of a full-time position. Portfolio careers offer more flexibility, variety, and freedom, but also require organizational skills as well as risk tolerance  
 
  Presentation/Graphics Specialist   Duties include using presentation software programs (such as Microsoft PowerPoint) to create presentations for meetings and events. Also may edit material and provide basic instruction to presenters on how to use a particular program.  
 
  Programmes manager   manages a series of projects that are linked with one another to form a programme. A programmes manager will usually manage one or more project managers.  
 
  Project Coordinator   Works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude major projects. Duties include coordinating schedules and activities, placing orders for supplies and services, and tracking progress and results. Requires excellent communication skills and extensive knowledge of database and project management software. Often reports to product development, project management or marketing executives. The position is especially prevalent in construction, transportation and technology industries. A premium is paid for the industry experience.  
 
  Project manager   responsible for managing web projects from start to finish. Due to the nature of online the projects can vary wildly but are likely to include overseeing the construction and launch of a website, microsite and online campaign materials.  
 
  Protein engineering   A technique used in the production of proteins with new or artificial amino acid sequences.  
 
  Protoplast   A plant or bacterial cell that has had its cell wall removed.
